Description
Live amateur performance of Kotaro Fukuma's exceptional 2013 solo piano arrangement of Satie's love song (ca. 1897). Fukuma quickly became one of my favorite contemporary pianists/arrangers once I discovered his version of Smetana's Die Moldau. His take on Je te veux similarly drew my instant passion--I love a good, lyrical, melody embellished with fun pianistic flair--and even though my own playing can hardly do it justice (watch his own recording at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cnRPqr3oDI for an amazingly spritely performance), I hope the skill of his piano writing and Satie's melodic/harmonic sensibility can shine through all the same.
