This is a Motormouth Bros. couple car review of the all-new 2025 Mini Convertible.
We have the 2025 Mini Cooper S Convertible, it’s powered by a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, 201 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The manual transmission is no longer available and this is a FWD model.
The base 2025 Mini Cooper Convertible engine has 161 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and the more powerful John Cooper Works, 228 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
The 2025 Mini Cooper S Convertible comes with some nice standard features like a 9.4” OLED touchscreen with MINI Operating System 9, ireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, head-up display, MINI Hi-Fi sound system, leatherette and cloth seats, heated front seats and comfort access. In the US, a heated steering wheel is also standard, it is available in Canada in a package.
There are plenty of different exterior colour options, go for black or white mirror caps, a black or silver grille, 18” wheels are standard in Canada, 17” in the US. You can open or close the automatic soft top fully with a touch of a button in 18 seconds at speeds up to 30 km/h. You can also open it like a sunroof or retract it fully to get an extra dose of sunshine and a wind deflector between the cockpit and the rear optimizes air flow.
Pricing in Canada for the Cooper C starts at $46,975 CAD, Cooper S $50,975 CAD, John Cooper Works $62,975 CAD. Price as tested $54,190 CAD.
In the US, Cooper $34,600 USD, Cooper S $37,900 USD, John Cooper Works $44,600 USD.
Fuel Economy for the Cooper S is 8.9L/100 km, 26 MPG city and 6.6L/100 km, 36 MPG highway.
